Our Story

Hello, I'm Ashley, founder of Hill & Glen Scotland and Mum to Harrison & Darcie.

The idea for Hill & Glen came from two things that warm my heart - the stunning landscapes of Scotland and precious time with family and friends.

My happy childhood was spent on a small farm in the rolling, Lowland hills. These simple days gave me a love of simple pleasures and an appreciation of the beauty in nature.

So now as a Mum, it's important to me that we share lots of adventures in the great outdoors. A break from busy days, to slow things down, press pause, enjoy the moment and make memories.

But we didn’t want our days at the beach, the park or on bigger adventures to be limited by inadequate, impractical and unsustainable kit. We were frustrated with the synthetic, low quality, poorly designed accessories that were destined for landfill after one Summer.

And so on Winter walks and Summer days (with lots of midges!) in the beautiful Scottish countryside, we created Hill & Glen, a sustainable, outdoor, lifestyle brand from Scotland, fiercely proud of its roots. Our inspiration was all around us - the tranquil beauty of the shores of our lochs, the majestic Highland hills, the heather covered glens, the dense woodlands, the stunning coastline and the miles of golden beaches – Scotland’s landscapes really do take your breath away.

Being family owned means we focus on the simple values at the heart of Hill & Glen – creating stylish and practical designs, doing all we can to ensure happy customers and making the best choices to protect the nature around us.

We live in Edinburgh and have lots of adventures locally - but our range has been ‘tried & tested’ in all weathers and seasons! Our range won’t last forever but, with due care, it will last a long time.

And as the products wear, they will carry memories with them.
